♥ ♥ Anticipation Guide

Sometimes murder is a necessary evil.
I agree. I think that sometimes murder is a necessary evil when either the punishment of the crime could only be death, or at the other persons will. I strongly believe that people shouldn’t be punished assisting in a suicide. If people want to take their own lives, so be it. I think murder is a necessary evil in unique cases such as if a guy with a serious criminal record is on the loose and is about to pull the trigger and kill innocent people, but is stopped as he is shot in the back, then I believe his murderer should rather be considered a hero. George killing Lenny in ‘Of Mice and Men’ was a necessary evil, just like vets putting down defenseless animals who don’t really have a say in their death, but it’s for the best. I don’t particularly believe in fighting for peace, but some would agree and say that in a battle/war scenario, murder is most definitely a necessary evil.

Every person in a court of law deserves to be defended.

I agree. It’s a basic civil right. Everybody deserves to be defended, no matter their age, race, or views. If they haven’t got the money to hire a lawyer, they can make do with a lawyer who’ll work pro bono. Set aside the fact that somebody can’t be defended due to the fact they haven’t got an attorney, some cases may just be dismissed or decided without the persons say. This is completely wrong. With the skills of a good skillful lawyer, a guilty person can have their life sentence reduced to as much as 10 years, for example. Or with smaller things, such as somebody with a drinking problems punishment can be haggled down from rehab to house arrest.
